How to get to Alice's Meadow

By Road

Alice's Meadow is situated on the road between Fencott and Murcott – opposite Moor Lands Farm.

Directions can be obtained from the AA Routefinder site. However, care should be taken to enter the destination without an apostrophe: i.e. as “Alices Meadow” – not “Alice's Meadow”.

If using another route or mapping service, the postcode of Alice's Meadow may be entered as 'OX5 2RE' – for Murcott, and ask directions to Moor Lands Farm from there.

The Ordnance Survey grid reference for Alice's Meadow is SP581159.

If using GPS, Alice's Meadow is at 51°50'19.38''N, 1°09'28.26''W.

By Rail

The nearest Railway Station is at Islip – 4.2 miles away. Details of services are available from National Rail enquiries.

By Bus

It is (just) possible to get to and from Alice's Meadow by bus. Service 95, (operating on Wednesday only) leaves Oxford (St Giles) at 12:30 and arrives in Murcott at 13:20. Intrepid travellers then have 25 minutes to visit Alice's Meadow – before the last bus of the day leaves Murcott village hall at 13:45, arriving back in Oxford at 14:25. The slightly more regular Service 94, serves Charlton-on-Otmoor (1.6 miles away).

Both services are operated by Charlton Bus Services, The Garage, Charlton-on-Otmoor, OX5 2RU, (01865) 331249.

It is strongly recommended that details are checked with the operator before travelling.

On Foot

The Oxfordshire Way passes within two miles of Alice's Meadow, and provides panoramic views of Otmoor on the section through Beckley.

By Bike

National Cycle Route 51 passes within four miles of Alice's Meadow at it's closest point.

However, the cross country route is problematic and six miles road distance (via Islip) is a more realistic estimate from the closest convenient exit point near Kidlington.
